MINSK, 18 December (BelTA) – The measures stipulated in Decree No. 5 "Concerning tougher requirements to senior executives and employees" will help improve the quality of management at Belarusian companies, analyst of the research group BusinessForecast.by Alexander Mukha told BelTA.
"I think that the measures formalized by this document will allow removing executives who do not fit the job from the professional and personal points of view and who cannot maintain sustainable growth of their companies in the mid-term and long-term perspectives. They will be replaced by new, more pro-active people. In the end, this will help improve the quality of management at Belarusian companies, because managers will have more reasons to improve their professional level and qualifications," the expert said.
According to the analyst, the decree is a perfect example of the stick and carrot policy. "It is designed to toughen the discipline, improve financial and economic performance of companies, and raise salaries through higher labor productivity. After all, if we manage to displace mala fide executives and employees and raise bonuses for those who work hard, the latter will get more incentives to work even harder," Alexander Mukha noted.
Naturally, one should not expect that the new measures will give an immediate result and that tomorrow everyone will turn into diligent workers. However, the adoption of this decree is already a step in the right direction, the analyst is convinced.
