Chelyabinsk Oblast to buy 100 Gomselmash harvesters

GOMEL, 8 April (BelTA) – Chelyabinsk Oblast will purchase 100 Gomselmash grain harvesters and fodder harvesters, Agriculture Minister of Chelyabinsk Oblast Sergei Sushkov told BelTA in Gomel. Sergei Sushkov leads the delegation of Chelyabinsk Oblast to Belarus.

The agreement on the purchase of the harvesters was signed following talks with the Gomel-based company. “We did not just hold talks, but we carefully studied all the production stages and came to the conclusion that the level of production upgrade at Gomselmash is very high. Taking into the consideration the price-quality ratio, our interest in the company’s products is easy to understand,” Sergei Sushkov said.

Talks were held on the purchase of Gomelagrokomplekt milking parlors for agricultural producers of Chelyabinsk Oblast. The delegation was also interested in supplies of foodstuffs made by local companies. “We invited the administration of Gomel Oblast and the agriculture committee to take part in the interregional exhibition Agro-2013 that will be held in Chelyabinsk in August,” Sergei Sushkov said.

In January-February 2013 the trade between Gomel Oblast and Chelyabinsk Oblast made up $6.5 million, up by 34.1% over the same period last year. Belarus’ major exports included farm machines, plastic and plastic goods, products from ferrous metals, wallpaper, glass, ceramic products, salt, and chocolate. The major exporters are Belarusian Steelworks, Multipack, Kashtan, Spartak, Gomeloboi, and Gomselmash. Meat and dairy producers of Gomel Oblast delivered their first batches of products to Chelyabinsk Oblast at the start of the year.

During the visit the delegation of Chelyabinsk Oblast is set to hold talks with top officials of the Trade Ministry and Agriculture and Food Ministry of Belarus in Minsk on 9-10 April.
